Let's discuss vampires

This is for brainstorming. All suggestions below will be added to this post. Current implementation There are two units that are vampires in game:
Both units can get an infinite amount of hp by eating your people. Lady Night gets more hp from feeding, the elder can fly.

In the sense of Vampire legend, how they survive by feeding on the life of other creatures, people, whatever. It would be extremely interesting to have creatures, not just Vampires since they would be directly linked to a dark themed deck, that gained Attack and Health from the death of other units. For instance: A creature that comes out saying it’s a 2/4 (Attack/Health) with the effect of whatever it could be named, like Vampirism, for lack of better term at this point in time, would have the ability, due to Vampirism, that if a unit is destroyed by this creature it gets ?/?. Buildings would be included on this. For example: Vampire Ghoul – 7 population 3 gold, of course the cost will have to be decently high to help make sure that these creatures don’t get completely out of control – Vampirism, when this creature destroys any other unit put ?/? on this unit where ? equals half of the destroyed units attack and Health. Vampire Ghoul attacks and destroys some building that is 40 health, that would give it 0/20. Making it pretty beastly, but it is easily avoidable in the fact that Vampire Ghoul could be stopped since it’s original health is only 4. Also, for an advanced player using some mana in their deck, it would be great for them to let this building be destroyed then lesser or greater chain Vampire Ghoul and take it over. If they were only Vampires, and secluded to a dark themed deck using population, there could be a counterpoint in the sense of a Light themed deck, like everywhere else. Only in the light themed, a card like Mage of Wisdom, per say, would make an appreance. For instance: Mage of Wisdom – 3/3 – 2 Gold, 3 Iron, just saying random stuff, not saying it’s going to be this cheap. – With the effect of Recruitment, for lack of better term. Recruitment – Gain 1 population for every friendly unit on the board whenever another friendly enters battle. For instance: Let’s say you’re playing a light themed deck. You play Mage of Wisdom, you gain one population for when he comes onto the field. Then play another unit, gain 2 population, play another unit, gain 3 population, and so on and so forth. Another Example: You have 5 units on the field, non of which happen to be Mage of Wisdom. Then what happens to be drawn when able, a wonderful Mage of Wisdom. Play this Mage, taking your unit count up to 6, gain 6 population. |

I like the idea of vampires getting a buff from killing blows. I actually like the concept of the ability Vampirism even moreso. A card could have this ability to start or a spell could be cast on an undead unit giving it this ability. I think it should be limited to getting the killing blow on a human, humanoid, or organic at the very least though. This could bring a lot of strategy into the game too. Attacking with multiple units, it could be beneficial to have the unit with vampirism delay its attack to get the killing blow. I also think the buff should probably be a fixed gain to keep it from becoming overpowered and/or exploited. As the vampire/vampiric unit kills, it becomes stronger, gaining attack and/or health. For example… • +1 attack, +1 health If the ability Vampirism was +1 attack, +2 health, then a card with “Vampirism 2” would get +2 attack, +4 health for delivering the killing blow. “Vampirism 2” would only appear on the more powerful vampires of course. |
