Resources should not be buildings

Psyclone suggests that resource buildings like Iron Mine, Forest, Quarry etc. should no longer be buildings, but its own major card type: Resource (its only a tag right now). This concept would have a major impact. I will discuss the various issues in the next posts here. I would like to know, what you think of it. |

The problem is that the type building doesn’t fit cards like Forest very well. With a new card type Resource this wouldn’t be an issue any longer. Since cards can have multiple types, a mine can still be a building too. But a Forest or a Magic Rock wouldn’t. This would also mean, that most Resources wouldn’t be affected by “attack bonus vs. building”-cards any more. This would, however, make them very strong “wall”-replacements. So we have to reduce their health (Magic Rock have maybe already too much). Now there is the problem: if resources have to much health – they can be used as walls (rendering real walls useless and stopping rush as an available strategy type) |

IMHO, I dont see a improvement here, it is just another concept but not really a “higher” step. If res-buildings are not more buildings they are immune vs rams and so on. But on the other side, it is really better to have more card types, we have then more possibilities for balance-changes. to sum up: |
