Preview of New Client
|
|
A first preview of the new game client has arrived. Its completly Flex/Flash-based (read: it has nicer animations :). Here you can take a first look at the client-preview: http://www.fantasy-cards.net/bin/kingdoms_clien… It still has some bugs and graphical glitches, but you can get a first impression. Deck and Opponent are currently fixed – just for testing. Have Fun, |

I’m worried about one thing, the bandwidth it takes. $%^& it has taken over a megabyte just to load! I hope that gets fixed. |

very good loking, runs much smoother than old client. its easier to keep track of everything. overall much better, Well done. |

@Humility: I don’t think the bandwidth is such a big problem. It’s size is actually 768 kByte and it loads in 0.9 seconds on my connection. The old client has 369 kByte and loads in 8.8 seconds – because it is split in many files. And don’t forget, it gets only loaded once – then its cached by the browser. That said, there is still potential to save about 200-300 kByte, getting the client to under 500. But this kind of optimization isn’t on top of my priority list. |

It saves to Cache? Thats good. I only get 200 MB a day, and I am required to keep it above fifty percent as consideration to others in my household. |

It didn’t freeze on me. Though for some reason the panel that shows the cards on the board must be scrolled left and right. But not a big enough issue to waste time correcting. I shudder to think how much time was spent animating the card flip. |

It doesn’t freeze for me |

Maybe next week it will be out. |

I found a bunch of bugs in the new system. I posted them in the bugs section. |
