I think having a Basic purchase market, mainly basic resources, a few different basic creatures (armored guard, wolf, lexa ect..) and maybe some things like wood wall, and a low tier spell or 2 available would help allow people some control as to their starting deck, but make most cards haveing to come from duels/tourneys ect.. would be ideal, to both maximise trading while still allowiing people to modify their deck if no-one is online to trade with.

Yes – correct.

Is there a difference between “Long build time” and “Long Construction Time”?

No its the same. Hmm – We should use just one wording. Which one is better?

How do you win the game? – from what I noticed, I kill the population of my enemy and thats it. Not sure if there are other ways like destroying all his buildings, etc.

Yes there is: You can also win by gaining 5 Victory Points.

Victory Point – what is this and how important? (does this let you win as well?)

Charge 3 (example +1) – This should mean that each time the unit moves 3 blocks(whatever direction) it gains +1 attack? or does the movement needs to be forward alone?

The unit gets the +1 attack for each single movement up to +3

Hi naderson – thx for the praise.

Actually, I’m still very busy with other stuff (family, day job and the like). So development is very slow at the moment :(. But I hope that this will change in the course of the next month. Most current work is on the internals of the game. When this is done, we can spit out more levels and cards.

Sorry there is no definitive readup. The info is a little bit scattered in the forum. But I can provide you some answers here:

  • Flying doesnt work like in MTG. It doesnt protect you from ground attacks. It’s just a movement ability that allows you to fly over walls and the like.
  • Actually there aren’t any real ranged units yet. But there are some with a similar special ability. E.g. the Elven Sniper – she can target any unit on the board with her ability.
  • Spell Range means how far you can cast a spell out of your kingdom. A Spell Range of 7 for example could target everything, a spell range of 3 would be able to target in your first three ranks.

Ask – if you have further questions .. no prop with being lazy :)

Hi everyone.. just like to ask.. is there a Wiki or definitive guide on how card abilities work?

I was wondering how “flying” works (if same as MTG) where ground units is unable to attack flyers. How do you know if a unit is Ranged, How to achieve certain awards, What’s a Spell Range? etc.

Basically, im just trying to find out if there’s a link we can use to read through some game definitions.

Hey fellas.. New member here..

I like to extend my appreciation on how Excellent this game is…

This is coming from someone like me who surfed the net and joined almost ALL online TCG card games whether free or payment needed.

Im a long time user of MTGO and several other trading card game and cant help but notice how massive of a potential this game has. The artistry, the game mechanics, even the concept of being time-bound is very-very original.

I sure hope there’s a “Supporter” status soon where donators can enjoy some features of the game, and an incoming release of Card Expansions. I am very excited and really dont mind spending cash here and there.

Hope the game grows.. More power to everyone :)

Ok, I agree – that it would look more professional. But it would also be less intuitive. Currently new players recognize the hand cards immediately. Any idea, how it can be kept intuitive and look more professional, at the same time?

Hi Everyone,

it has been several month since the last upgrade. Don’t despair! Fantasy Cards is far from being DEAD.

I just released a new version. There are several improvements:

New Award System

I totally revamped the award system. You now get notified in the very moment you get an award – previously it was only after the game.

Several Awards have been dropped and some new added. The best feature is the possibility for story based awards. Let the bear escape in the Level Wild Animals and you will see…

New Level ‘Home at the Castle’

Home at the Castle replaces the old Resource Tutorial. It’s more interesting and better integrated in the tutorial story.

Better Performance

Most changes I did, are not visible from the outside. But I changed quite some code. Did a lot of modernization. And the best thing is: improved performance.

If you have already cached the game client (i.e. it’s your 2nd play), game start is now almost instantaneous.

Bug Fixes

Like always, I squashed some of these nasty creatures. Most importantly, in two player games you start with the correct hand cards.

cards are idle for varying times uppon summoning usually 15? seconds or so, unless it states fast, very fast or instant arrival.

the card times are this i believe (might have been changed)

I’m sure it works. But I have a hard time finding someone who likes to duel too :(. I think the problem is, that most players are already playing vs. the ai most of the time. So they dont see the request.

are you sure multiplayer works? i mean, i try a lot of time to have a duel with someone else and no answer, not one in, perhaps, 15-20 request.
