Yes – correct.

Is there a difference between “Long build time” and “Long Construction Time”?

No its the same. Hmm – We should use just one wording. Which one is better?

How do you win the game? – from what I noticed, I kill the population of my enemy and thats it. Not sure if there are other ways like destroying all his buildings, etc.

Yes there is: You can also win by gaining 5 Victory Points.

Victory Point – what is this and how important? (does this let you win as well?)

Charge 3 (example +1) – This should mean that each time the unit moves 3 blocks(whatever direction) it gains +1 attack? or does the movement needs to be forward alone?

The unit gets the +1 attack for each single movement up to +3

Hi naderson – thx for the praise.

Actually, I’m still very busy with other stuff (family, day job and the like). So development is very slow at the moment :(. But I hope that this will change in the course of the next month. Most current work is on the internals of the game. When this is done, we can spit out more levels and cards.

Sorry there is no definitive readup. The info is a little bit scattered in the forum. But I can provide you some answers here:

  • Flying doesnt work like in MTG. It doesnt protect you from ground attacks. It’s just a movement ability that allows you to fly over walls and the like.
  • Actually there aren’t any real ranged units yet. But there are some with a similar special ability. E.g. the Elven Sniper – she can target any unit on the board with her ability.
  • Spell Range means how far you can cast a spell out of your kingdom. A Spell Range of 7 for example could target everything, a spell range of 3 would be able to target in your first three ranks.

Ask – if you have further questions .. no prop with being lazy :)

Ok, I agree – that it would look more professional. But it would also be less intuitive. Currently new players recognize the hand cards immediately. Any idea, how it can be kept intuitive and look more professional, at the same time?

Hi Everyone,

it has been several month since the last upgrade. Don’t despair! Fantasy Cards is far from being DEAD.

I just released a new version. There are several improvements:

New Award System

I totally revamped the award system. You now get notified in the very moment you get an award – previously it was only after the game.

Several Awards have been dropped and some new added. The best feature is the possibility for story based awards. Let the bear escape in the Level Wild Animals and you will see…

New Level ‘Home at the Castle’

Home at the Castle replaces the old Resource Tutorial. It’s more interesting and better integrated in the tutorial story.

Better Performance

Most changes I did, are not visible from the outside. But I changed quite some code. Did a lot of modernization. And the best thing is: improved performance.

If you have already cached the game client (i.e. it’s your 2nd play), game start is now almost instantaneous.

Bug Fixes

Like always, I squashed some of these nasty creatures. Most importantly, in two player games you start with the correct hand cards.

I’m sure it works. But I have a hard time finding someone who likes to duel too :(. I think the problem is, that most players are already playing vs. the ai most of the time. So they dont see the request.

Actually, it wasn’t meant for putting in your deck, but the collection shows all cards. You can consider this a bug if you want. But it has a low priority.

Hmm – What about raising the attack value of the wolves from 2 to 3? This would really raise the need for the potions. But would it make the level to hard for beginners?

I think there should be a need to use the potion. But it may be enough to have just some damage. So you need to use the healing potions to get back to full health. Some damage is enough to see the effect of potions and get familiar with the mechanics – like Humility said. A real need for the potions that would prevent the player from making it through the level would be too hard for a tutorial.

So there is only a problem, if some players doesn’t get damaged at all.

Great idea.

No I think it is ok like this. However, the health potions are not necessary at this point.

Do you mean, you haven’t been hit at all? Or just that the damage is low enough, that you don’t need them?

Thanks for reporting. The server crashed again. This happens once in while. No idea why it did this time. Everytime I think I nailed it, it reappears with a new cause :(. The Good thing is. That all I have to do is to restart the server. But I need to know about the crash in the first place.
