what a destiny, i have a boring weekend this day and was trolling around the internet, to find something interessing to play.
and then i saw fantasy-cards, again.
and i remember the game.
and it seems that im pefectly hit the time to enjoy the new client.
he is AWESOME, really good work darkrune.
im so happy that a long time ago i was able to help you ;)

Stone has already the biggest health,

we cant realy reduce the health of the other res-cards.

Iron Mine has 12, if we reduce them to 10, a singel fireball can destroy it.

hmm

Maybe Fireball should be “only unit”

I would like to solve 2 problems

Maybe you recognize that we have a new card,
the Mind Soldier

He is the stronger version of the mind warrior
Warstorm use this system, they has for every card a stronger Version.

In my opinion Warstorm is a realy bad game
i mean, you cant do any actions!!!
you just sit and watch how the CPU plays for you…

a much better card-browser-game is this one

but it is still a normal turn-based tcg
but with a great card design (i mean the effects an so on)


To recognize the stronger cards Warstorm use different frame colours.

In FC we have the problem that all our colours are used for different card types.
Warstorm has only 2 card types or so.

Ok, we can use different names for the cards.
But can you really differentiate what card is stronger?
The mind soldier or the mind warrior,
it sounds the same.

Second Problem,

Some players said that some cards should be legends
(there can be only one card on the field with the same name) like in magic the gathering
cards like Yato, the Angry Wizard should be legends
Sure
But the legends in Magic has a huge backgroundstory, they are characters in Magic books.
And i dont want a “copy”, i want a own system.

My solution:
Lets combine these problems to one solution!

Here a example,

The Armor Guard
gets a stronger Version

Siegfried, the Armor Guard.

The normal Armor Guard gets to a legends, he gets a name, because he has more experience and power than a normal Guard.

1. the “Name” of the cards is warrantable.
2. Everybody can differentiate the strong cards.

And of course, Sir Aran, the Elite Knight can get a weaker version.

maybe you are right.
but I think that the elven sniper is not OP because his shot has a cost of wood, not because his damage is 1.

And you are right
this !should be the strategy of this units, a unique strategy only in FC.
I think if we can balance this, it would be a great expansion for strategies.

of course we can create both types of cards if we want.

the elven archer has a range of 7 (i think that this is ok) so maybe the trebuchet should be range 7,too.

in a card game we should ignore accuracy,
a “50% chance to hit” effect would add to much random too FC

aha ok,

there is another point:

we can create different kinds of “catapults”

highCost/highCooldown but a high range
or lowCost/lowCooldown but small range

which one should be the trebuchet?
was a trebuchet in the middle age a “high range” catapult?

this is really crazy
i dont really understand why this “power” can solve problems.
i think we will get much more problems

1. a max “power” limit for decks is nonsence! i never see it in a TCG and i never want to see this. I dont want be limited in building my deck.
2. I dont think that we will ever find a good “power limit”
3. If you want to solve in this way the balance problems, i think this is the complete wrong way to go.
4. I dont see the “benefit” of this system for FC
5. there would be always a problem with the rating. (—>more imbalance)

There are some Cards which i really dislike.

1. Wooden Fence

This cards seem to me like a “copy” of the stone wall.

Better Wooden Fence:

def 1 hp 20
when wooden fence comes in play draw a card,

but then it is like wall of wisdom…… when i wrote this DarkRune added wall of wisdom i think….

2. Trebuchet
It would be much better if the Trebuchet could “shot”
0/0/10

2 Stone 56 sec : 10 damage to a building

I dont like that Diminishing Returns should be a “default” feature.
Easy do get, but never to handle. So it is really unimortant.
And in the late game you will find out a slow gameplay because the Dimishing Returns is to high.
But maybe we can create some cards with this ability.

another possibility is,
decrease the production speed from 24 to 22 or 20 sec.

It is a small change and dont really change the gameplay.
but
if stone is the fastest res to produce, it is the best “to trade” res.
this means, that you can sell it really fast for gold.

pure wood/gold decks can now involve some stone quarries to produce faster gold than with forests.
in the late game you will get a gold-advantage.

this will increase the personality of stone.

Of course every dragon should share common features, but every dragon should be a unique creature, too.

My suggestion:

The cave dragon should get this ability:

cost: 2 Iron 36 sec cooldown
“The Cave Dragon gets +1 armor”

1. This reflect his ancient and rockiness skin.
2. This provide the non-mono culture!
3. The dragon is unique ;)
4. I think we can add easily more dragons, i have enough “art-ressources” for 4 dragons. I just need the time ;)
