Topic: Ideas / Stone's Personality & Depletion Concept

I don’t know weather stone needs this kind of personality or not- being the “only default” is a unique characteristic too. And every time I play mana streams I like the concept of charges for resources less. It’s just not fun to have useless cards on the field.
And about loosing hitpoints- that seems to make some cards useless, e.g. ancient woodlands or Arina, the psychik.

This is for brainstorming. All suggestions below will be added to this post.

Current implementation

There are two units that are vampires in game:

  1. Lady Night- 8 attack, 10 health, 2 gold, 3 people
  2. Vampire elder- 8 attack, 16 health, 3 gold, 3 people

Both units can get an infinite amount of hp by eating your people. Lady Night gets more hp from feeding, the elder can fly.

suggestions for new vampire mechanics

  1. A vampire that gets stronger when killing living opponents. This could be expanded to other kind of creatures as well, e.g. a demon hunter that gets health by killing undead/demons or cannibals of all kinds.
  2. Shapeshifting! Wolves, bats, fog- the possibilities are endless.
  3. Recruitment- Anything granting population. Not rally a vampire thing, but synergies very well. I know that this is already in game, but the current implementations are rather inefficient.
  4. Gift vampirism- A spell/card ability that grants vampire powers to non-vampires.
  5. Powerlevels- some vampires can use their abilities better than others

Topic: Decks / Mana Decks

Arina’s chains-another approach to mana-decks in 30 cards

Unlike other mana decks “Arina’s chains” doesn’t use magic rocks or enchanted forests. it uses Arina as a mana source instead. Therefor it’s vulnerable to rush decks and anything taking other units. It however does exactly that, as it uses a rushable military and lots of chains. As it needs no storage expansions you won’t have to wait to long to draw a card. Because it tends to accumulate a lot of mana in the mid- to endgame that is not needed for anything it finishes of opponents with call lightning.

It is much more balanced with the new rules- it doesn’t get crushed that easily anymore.

Topic: Ideas / The forums

There are currently 9 of them. As the community is rather small we don’t need that much. What do we need the questions and answers forum for example? Short questions can just as easily be asked in the open discussion forum. And we all know that they are much more likely asked in the shout box.

To make a long story short, why don’t we just merge some forums? The goal would be to get fewer forums that are in turn more active then the current ones:

  1. News and
  2. bugs forums just as they are now.
  3. Merge open discussion, decks, questions & answers and challenges to a general forum. None of the mentioned forums has any big discussion going on that would justify it’s existence.
  4. Merge the german forums and the guest book. Why do we need the german forum anyway?

That’s a good deck, though I wonder why you don’t combine your mana-spam with "call lightning. It grows in power the more mana you have.

On a more general note, which is the best mana source?

  • Arina, the psychic(24 sec, 1 gold, 1 mana)
  • Enchanted forest (30 sec, 1 wood)
  • Magic Rock (36 sec, 1 stone)
  • Other (Mana streams, mana drain, maelstrom tower)

My personal preference is the magic rock, simply because it can stop rushes.

Thank you Cheezypoofs, your list is very helpful. There is just one card you overlooked: mana-streams are generating mana for free, but only three times each. By selling iron for gold you might get closer to mono-mana:

  • mana streams to get your “starting mana”
  • the alchemist and iron mines to get gold
  • Arina, the Psychic as your alternative to magic stones and enchanted forests
    With this economy you should get a quite pure mono-mana-deck.

EDIT: We overlooked another card: the magic mushroom. By discarding it and another card you gain on mana instantly. This is making it faster than the mana streams. But the mana streams still have the advantage that you don’t have to sacrifice cards. I don’t think that it’s better, but I don’t know.

So iron remains the only primary resource you can’t really play as a “mono-recource”.

Well done, guys. I like how the projekt has changed cince I registered- the design update, the reworked card list and deckbuilder and now the sorting feature! I think it’s going in the right direction.

There’s only one small point left: Could you put in a sorting option that seperates all the cards that either store or generate recources? It will certanly save a lot of time when you build up the economics of your decks.

Would it be possible to make alternate castles, e.g.

  1. Elven Palace- stores two wood, 1 iron, no stone
  2. Mages Guild stores nothing, but generates mana at a fast rate
    It would help to make decks more flavorful.

Maybe instead of limiting the mana storage you could give all other recourses a starting-limit of two. That would help to get out weaker units like armored guard out very fast. If this is too strong maybe the time you have to wait when you expand your storage with your castle should be reduced imo.

I encountered the bug with empty decks as well as with existing ones. My browser (Safari) redirected me as it should, but when i returned to the deck it was as before. It all seems to work now however.
